*Made in 14 days for the MechJam IV*

Okay, this is the last thing I'm adding to this, and I'll add it here at the top. Upon some properly playtesting, I've noticed that the boss on level 2 literally doesn't take damage from the player. I probably won't fix it because I'm tired, and this project already served its purpose as a prototype and way for me to learn Godot.

This description has both useful info for the game and some random rambling about development.

*It has come to my attention that the windows build seems to have some bugs that I didn't see in the linux build, like the game quitting instead of going to the start menu or game over screen.

How the game is supposed to play: in level 1, you're supposed to kill 30 enemies to win, while not dying or letting them destroy the giant drill (aka the only thing in the background). In level 2 however, you just need to kill the boss.

I also would like to explain that the enemies in level 1 spawn randomly on the far left or right of the level, and they always spawn flying in the air. As I say below, there was supposed to be a radar for the player, but I couldn't implement it in time. Without it, you kinda need to wait for the enemies to get near the center, or you can try to randomly intercept them on the way.

Due to their spawn frequency, they take some time to came from the sides towards the drill, so it looks like there's no enemy in the game.

Killing a certain amount results in their spawn frequency increasing.

Always dash in the game. Walking is there available, but the game was made with focus on dashing to the sides only.

Disclaimer: I made this game using the worst computer ever. I literally couldn't run this game properly while I was developing it. That means that I didn't beat it. I don't even know if it's possible to finish it. That's also why I didn't take a single screenshot of it. I also don't think I want to try to take screenshots for it anymore. I already accomplished what I wanted. To program a game alone from start to finish using an engine that I've never used before, and with results that made me proud, despite everything.

But with random rambling aside, this game is about a woman named Veronica that's a pilot for the Wasteland Division of the Dragonflies. Which is a group of highly skilled pilots that mostly deals with raiders in this post apocalyptic world.

In the game you're supposed to protect a drilling operation being held in the wasteland far away from the city, and inside the undead territory. Yes, the enemy mechs in the game are being piloted by undead soldiers. The boss fight at the end (if it's possible for someone to see the end lol), is one of four creatures that a mad immortal preacher ruling the world calls the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

And that's it. Just wanted to say a few things about the game (since I couldn't put any dialogues or cutscenes in it due to the lack of time).

This game was made on a 2008 laptop running on a debian live usb (which is all I have at the moment lol).

It was made in Godot and I did everything for it, with the exception of the sounds, that I got on opengameart.org.

****Okay, I know this description is already a mess, but I wanted to point out some things that I think should be pointed out.

I just tried playing the jam build for the first time, and found some things that weren't supposed to be that way lol. Level 1 didn't play song on the background, as it should have. The player was supposed to always start with 30000 armor points, 500 ammo and 50 missiles, but it's not for some reason. The explosion sfx sounds completely wrong, even though in engine it was correct. Also, couldn't beat level 1 lol.

I think I should also mention the player was supposed to have a radar on the top right. Couldn't implement it in time. Not having a radar makes the game really hard and unfair IMO, but it was what I could do for the jam.
